Barley, millet, spelt and oats are also cereal grains. Like wheat, rice and corn, they contain significant proportions of carbohydrates Although these are normally healthy grains for the non-diabetic, they should remain on the prohibited carbohydrate list for type II diabetics and avoided if you want to achieve maximum blood sugar control.
