choice would be a Sleep Number bed. I’ve used the Tempurpedic and have nothing but marvelous things to say about it, as do my patients who own them, even though it’s a bit on the pricey side. But you get what you pay for. Although I haven’t had the occasion to actually experience a Sleep Number bed, I have patients who’ve bought them and have returned good reports. This bed also addresses the challenge of sleeping partners who have very different comfort levels when it comes to mattress firmness. Each side of this air-filled mattress can be adjusted to suit the individual. Hopefully, this chapter has given you some insights into the importance of rest, how much is enough and how to adjust your rest periods to keep your sleep up to adequate levels. If you have sleep challenges, you now have some nutritional/supplemental resources to try and you have some considerations for making your sleep environment the most conducive to producing actual sleep. You also have some ways to change your pre-sleep time to prepare you better for sound, restful sleep. Sleep/rest is when your body does the majority of its repair and has its greatest opportunity to re-balance its normal chemistry. Be certain to give it at least as high a priority as you do getting adequate amounts of exercise. page 73
